Data Overload
Rapid increases in computing combined with the proliferation of the Internet have led to information overload. Or is it NON-information overload? Certainly there is more data today, but is there more real information? While we struggle to contend with data bombardment, it seems the quest for "better" information becomes more and more challenging.

How can your company cope with this ever-increasing volume of data? How can you leverage your data to its maximum benefit? In fact, have you even begun to identify valuable information that's buried in your data? How can you ensure employees can access the information they need - quickly and easily?

Multiple Sources
Data is spread across geographic locations, multiple applications and employee desktops. Some applications are line of business while others consist of operational support systems like HR, accounting and so on. Corporate decision making is often based on spreadsheets with information buried on desktop PCs. The problem that multiple location data creates is that users will report on different sets of numbers. Critical reporting is often based on information derived from partial exports, reports and calculations. It’s probable that others in the company are unable to recreate or verify these reports.

We strive to eliminate these problems. First of all we determine what information is needed to support strategic, tactical, and operational reporting. We then locate the data that is required, regardless of location or application. We then create extract procedures that clean, transform, and consolidate the data.

Information Ancestry
Data extracts are logged along with all query requests. This facilitates compliance with standards like Sarbanes Oxley. An audit trail is created for data including the originating application, the type of data transformations performed, date and user associated with the extract and subsequent query requests.
